Delete Your Account

COGTB Temple App

You can delete your COGTB Temple account at any time directly in the app: open Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and associated personal data.

If you no longer have access to the app, you can request deletion by email instead, using the steps below. Your request will be processed within 30 days.

How to request account deletion by email

Send an email to:

cogtb3707@gmail.com

Use the subject line: Account Deletion Request

In your message, please include:

The email address associated with your account
Your username (if you remember it)
A short statement that you are requesting full deletion of your account

We may reply with a confirmation email asking you to verify the deletion request from the same email address as your account. This step protects your account from unauthorized deletion requests.

What data is deleted

When we process your deletion request, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:

Your name, email address, username, and password hash
Your profile photo and banner image
Your bio and church affiliation
Your push notification token
Your authentication sessions
Your direct messages and private chat history
Your notification preferences and privacy settings

What data is kept

For the integrity of community conversations, the following content remains visible but is attributed to "Deleted User" rather than your name:

Posts you published to public community feeds
Messages you sent in public church chat rooms
Replies and reactions in public threads

If you want this content also removed, mention that explicitly in your email — we will review and remove it where possible (some content may be retained where required by law or to maintain the integrity of community moderation records).

Timeline

Within 7 days: we acknowledge your request by email.
Within 30 days: account and associated personal data are permanently deleted from our active systems.
Within 90 days: any remaining backup copies expire and are overwritten.
